May, June, and September are the sweet spot — long days, sensible crowds, everything open. July and August are the busiest and hottest, and Paris genuinely empties as locals head south. Our France plans use Orange or SFR. Both operate extensive 5G in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, and Nice; 4G LTE is universal on the Autoroute network and along the TGV corridors. Underground reception on the Paris Métro is patchy on older lines (4, 12, 13) but strong on the newer 14 and RER. The overseas territories (Réunion, Martinique, French Guiana) are NOT covered by mainland plans — use a global or country-specific eSIM for those.
Installing your France eSIM

Will my eSIM work throughout France, including small villages?
Yes for the mainland. Orange and SFR both hit >99% population coverage and cellular reception is strong even in Provençal villages and Loire hamlets. The only reliable dead zones are deep in Corsica's mountains and inside some of the older cathedral crypts.
Does the eSIM work in Monaco?
Monaco has its own operator (Monaco Telecom) and your France plan will roam onto it — data works, though speeds may drop briefly at the border. If you're staying in Monaco more than a day, a Europe-wide plan handles both cleanly.
How much data for a Paris weekend?
A long weekend usually consumes 1–2 GB on Google Maps, translation apps, and messaging. If you're vlogging or uploading photos in real time, size up to 5 GB. For a full week including day trips, 5 GB is a comfortable target.
Can I use the eSIM on the Eurostar to London?
It works up to and inside the Channel Tunnel on the French side. The moment you cross into the UK, the plan stops — the Eurostar has cross-carrier repeaters but the eSIM only holds a French subscription. A UK eSIM or a Europe-wide plan handles both ends.
Will it work on Île de Ré and Corsica?
Yes on both — they use the same French networks with strong 4G LTE coverage in the towns and along the coast roads. Interior Corsica has thin patches in mountainous zones.
